You can grow your own veggies, herbs & fruits - pots and containers work just fine if you don't have a yard. Use some high quality soil and feed it good stuff - compost and natural soil enrichers.
Some of the most fun plant to grow are perennials - plants that come back year after year. La Lavender Lady's favorite garden plant - is, of course, LAVENDER! After a few years the plants are more like small shrubs, and oh, when it blossoms, it smell sooo sweet.
You can cut it & put it in a vase. Or you can dry it, put it in a small cloth bag & tuck it in a drawer. It's edible, too - and you can use it as an herb.
A field full of lavender is a beautiful and fragrant sight to behold. Here's a link to Young Living's Lavender Farm. I've been to their Lavender Farm in Mona, Utah,. It's amazing.
